To become a CLU, he completed eight courses over two years proving his expertise in financial and estate planning, asset protection, income taxes, and retirement planning.
His clients include physicians, attorneys, business owners, rental property owners and executives from companies such as Lockheed, AT&T, Pacific Bell, Granite Rock, and Hewlett Packard.
Doug has been involved in a number of civic and charitable organizations over the years, such as Mid-County Rotary, United Way, the Association for the Retarded, Dominican Hospital Foundation, a past Cub Scout Master, a Junior Achievement Leader, Board Member of the Big Z Charitable Foundation and is active in numerous political organizations.
He is a founding board member of Coast Commercial Bank and most recently Lighthouse Bank, past president of the Pasatiempo Home Owners Association, and past president of the Pasatiempo Golf Club.
He is a life-long resident of Santa Cruz and currently resides in Pasatiempo with his wife Jo-Ann. His daughter Stacy completes the Austin Financial Group.
